I’m indebted to my beautiful wife for her brilliant posing for this picture, which would otherwise not have had such cinematographic clarity. And yet the muse was not amused by her husband playing the part of the partner preparing to depart up the staircase….
When I was young I wanted to make films. This urge was effortlessly destroyed by my realization of how much team effort was involved – a veritable orgy of compromise. But from time to time I make a painting that feels like a scene from one of the movies I will never make.
I think this needs to be viewed in your lounge once again, to get more of a macro view of facial expressions. The uplifted hind foot of your model is a good touch and the style of clothing and shoes most apt. The hat on the suitcase suprisingly is not lost on the otherwise green backgrounded landscape – and is most old fashioned the way it is positioned on one lonely travel case.I say keep up the skills and talent already found in your own directors chair!
Beautiful, just beautiful. Made me cry.
