what a delicate line the horizon line
that separates lake from sky
such thin, thin indifference
to its irrelevant task
of separating
the flight of birds and the flight of fish.
Only land is the odd one out
but from where else would the flightless watch?
-or set out in excited boats!
when occasionally
the line
vanishes
altogether.
That is a great divider line you have used- the flight of fish and flight of birds. Perhaps the word lake should be changed to sea? I like the pathway leading up to the (port jackson) stick fence. I might need to see the picture on a bigger monitor, or better still in the flesh.
Dear Peter,
thanks for the reflections and of course the paintings – my favourite is the one with the staircase!
